The current Christian understanding of a “rapture” and other related concepts are responsible for people considering Christianity a delusion.
The Bible promises that God will send a strong delusion to disobedient people who forsake His law in 2 Thessalonians 2:11.
2Th 2:11 (RSV) Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false,
He does this so that they can be judged.
2Th 2:12 that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
When they “wake up” and come to recognize that some of what they had previously believed was false.
At that time they can be restored so that they will not be condemned.
