Daniel’s “Time, Times and Half a Time”

Work in Progress –

Dan 7:25 speaks of the enemy wearing out or afflicting (Strong’s H1080) the saints. During the time times and half a time when they are sheltered from the serpent by God, Rev 12:14.
Da 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
So midweek (1260) days the Christian (man of sin) sin’s willfully and is delivered into Hell on day 1290 and is therein purified by being given into the limited power of the Devil for correction until day 1335.

  1. Daniel 8 speaks to a time period for cleansing.
Dan 8:14 refers to a 2300 Day period for a cleansing of the sanctuary and its people –
During the 2300 day period (possibly symbolizing the 70th week) there appears to be a period beginning where a person is delivered to prison on Day 1290 and must endure discipline while maintaining faith until day 1335.
This may be the times time and half a time (which equals 1260 days) in Dan 7:25, Dan 12:7 and Rev 12:6. Revelation 11:2 says that the outer court is trampled by the gentiles for 42 months or 1260 days. This possibly pertains to the hypocrites who are sent into the outer darkness of Matt Mt 8:12; 24:51 and 25:30
Da 8:14 (YLT) And he saith unto me, Till evening–morning two thousand and three hundred, then is the holy place declared right.
Da 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. KJV
  2. Daniel 9 also speaks to a time period for cleansing.
Da 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people (the people of God) and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince
shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks, the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Interpreters hold that the first seven weeks of the 49 weeks referenced in verse 25, elapses’ to rebuild the city etc., and then after that the following 62 weeks in verse 25 elapse spanning the time gap until Jesus is Crucified in week 69, making the 69 week total. I illustrated this concept using underlining, bold font, and color coding in verse 25 as it is pasted above this verse.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
[The spiritual Second Coming occurs at this point (after the 69th week, in an individual person’s life]
During the 70th week God cleanses the person –
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

+Now you should know and be intelligent: From the going forth of the word to cause a return and to rebuild Jerusalem—from then until Messiah the Governor is seven sevens, and sixty-two sevens. It shall return and will be rebuilt, square and salient, +even in the constraint of the times.

(CLV) Dn 9:26

  • After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah shall be cut off, and there will be no 7adjudication0 for Him. + The city and the holy place shall be claid in ruins 7with~ the other governor’s •coming; +then its end is iby an overflowing, and until the end of the war, desolations| will be decided|.

(CLV) Dn 9:27
+Then he will be master of a covenant ›with many for one seven; + at half of the seven, he shall cause to cease the sacrifice and the approach present; + on a wing of 7the sanctuary0 shall be desolating abominations. + Until the 7allconclusion of the era0 + the decided| allconclusion shall be poured forth on the desolation|.

During (mid-week) the 70th week there will be a “falling away” when the man of sin is revealed, 2 Thess 2:3. Verse six again speaks to the length of this time period, being a time times and half a time linking this with the information in Rev 12:14. So the “Day” in Dan 2:12, Matt 25:46 and Re 12:14 all speak to the same time defined in Revelation avs the time when “God”s people are sheltered from the serpent.
Putting that into Dan 12:7 we see that the answer to “how” long are the people of God sheltered from the Devil, a time times and half a time.
The phrase “time times and half a time” refers to the period of time allotted to “breaking in pieces the power of the Holy people”.
Combining this with the information in Rev 12:14 regarding God’s people being sheltered from the serpent it can be seen that Jesus as the “Lion of Judah supervises the breaking/training of his people.

  1. Daniel 12 speaks to the length of the discipline period.
12:2 Many that sleep in the dust will awake some to life and some to punishment, Matt 25:46.
Jesus here through using this phrase shows us that Dan 12 is speaking of the “Day of the Lord”. The earths unbelievers help God’s people by by swallowing up the flood of ungodliness sent against god’s people in Rev 12:16, as the phrase “I gave them for you” indicates in Isaiah 43:4.
I feel that willful sin starts when symbolically when The Daily Sacrifice is taken away in Dan 12:11 and the Abomination is set up 1290 days later.
When a Christian starts to sin willfully the process in Matt 5 begins and unless they agree with the adversary regarding their guilt they are delivered to prison 1290- days later, Mt 5:25.
These Christians people are blessed if they continue to endure until Day 1335 in Dan 12:12.
Da 12:11 (YLT) and from the time of the turning aside of the perpetual [sacrifice], and to the giving out of the desolating abomination, [are] days a thousand, two hundred, and ninety. YLT Da 12:12 (YLT) O the blessedness of him who is waiting earnestly, and doth come to the days, a thousand, three hundred, thirty and five.
This is seen in Heb 10:26 and is a time of willful sin.
There appears to be 1290 days between the committing of a willful sin and being delivered to the prison or Hell.
Then 45 days of enduring the purging as is mentioned in Dan 11:35.
Da 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
If a willfully sinful person endures the time of trying from Day 1290 to day 1335 as Dan 12:10 and 12 mention, they will be blessed.
Da 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried.
Da 12:10 (ASV) Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand.
This 45 Day period seems then to indicate the time necessary to purge willful sin.

A – Re 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
B – Re 11:3 ¶ And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
C – Re 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
C – Re 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
B – Re 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
A – Re 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Daniel’s 70th week is a period when Jesus, as Messiah, confirms the covenant with His people.
Midweek or during that week the person with whom Jesus is confirming the covenant is both afflicted (Dan 7:25) and nourished or fed.
This is the Time corresponding to the phrases “a time’s times and half a time” and ”1260 days” as is seen in Dan 7:25 and Rev 12:14. The 70th week can be seen as two periods of 1260 days.
In Rev 12:6 we see that this first section of 1260 days can be described as one in which God nourishes the person with whom Jesus is confirming the covenant.
Re 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
The Second period of 1260 days is seen in Rev 12:14 where we see that the same person is nourished from/through (Strong’s 575)the presence of the Serpent.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
This second so-called period of “A Times, Times and Half a Time” (1260 Days) is summarized by this statement from Job –
Job 36:10 (RSV) He opens their ears to instruction and commands that they return from iniquity.
In Three instances God, either by Himself as in Job, or through Jesus (Matt 24:51 and 25:41) or Paul (1 Cor 5:5) disciplines Christian Men who sin willfully.
He does this by sending them into the presence or (as it is termed in Rev 12:14) the face (Strong’s 4383) of Satan as a part of “confirming the covenant” during the 70th week of Daniel.
In this process, He allows them to “pass under the rod” and brings them into the bonds of the covenant, Ez 20:37.
Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
This desired result of the second process is described by Paul in 1 Cor 5:5.
1Co 5:5 To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh (nature), that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
In the New Testament, this process is illustrated by the two concepts mentioned in 1 Cor 11:32 and Heb 12:5-11.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Rev 12:14 also speaks of this time period.

Re 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

In Dan 7:25 the saints are afflicted when the saints are given into His hands of the one speaking against the Most High. And in the occurrence in Rev 12:14 the saints are strengthened through feeding (Strong’s 5142) from the presence (NKJV) of the serpent.

Dan 7:25 speaks of the enemy wearing out or afflicting (Strong’s H1080) the saints.
