Christianity is considered a delusion.

God has sent strong “delusion” to His sinful people as is seen in 1 Thess 2:11.

As a result of this delusion, many do not see clearly.

Currently, there exist false and deluded constructs regarding the Second Coming and the “Rapture”, ad nausuem.

2Th 2:11 Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false,
(RSV)

Many Christian leaders are similar to the drunken priests in Isaiah 28:7.

Isa 28:7 These also reel with wine and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are confused with wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in giving judgment. (RSV).

God has exposed the shamefulness of the church for all the unbelievers to see, as He said He would in Jeremiah 13:26.

Jer 13:26 I myself will lift up your skirts over your face, and your shame will be seen. (RSV)

Jer 13:27 People of Jerusalem, I have seen your adulterous worship, your shameless prostitution to, and your lustful pursuit of, other gods. I have seen your disgusting acts of worship on the hills throughout the countryside. You are doomed to destruction! How long will you continue to be unclean?’” (NET)

Daniel 9:16 shows us that God’s people were viewed as shameful or exposed when He wrote the verse.

Da 9:16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people have become a reproach to all that are about us.

The solution to this problem is found in Joel 2:17.

Joe 2:17 (ASV) Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Jehovah, and give not thy heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
